Visitors bringing children to Canada

All children must have valid identification the same as for the adults as stated above in the relevant section. Travelling to Canada with children can be complicated if the visitor does not have legal custody. If this is the case the visitor must have a letter of permission from the children's parents.

Parents who are divorced and entering Canada with shared custody rights should carry the legal documents describing the custody status.

Children who are travelling alone must have a letter of permission from their parents or legal guardian.

People under the age of 18 are considered Children for the purposes of entry into Canada.
